the beauty bite

My handbag beauty essentials

I don’t like carrying around a huge makeup bag when I’m in town, my bags are stuffed either way but I like when I have something for SOS occasions. These are the most important to me, quite minimalist (but the lippies!) as I like it. I could have put there some blotting papers (but a tissue does the job as well so I don’t miss it) or maybe mini nail files, but my nails are in quite a good condition, so there is no need for them.

The beauty bag is an ancient H&M one, not much bigger than my hand, so it is surprising how many things can be squeezed into. The mini mirror, the bobby pins and the hairband is a no-brainer I think, every bad hair day can be saved with them, and a mirror comes handy in every beauty situation. There is also a hand sanitizer for eating in public for instance and a handcream, because my hands are always dry whether it is winter or summer. Now move onto the lip products since they are the interesting bits – for me at least. All of them are hydrating, and goes with everything I would wear on my face. The top one is the Yves Rocher raspberry lip balm, that gives a very subtle reddish colour to the lips. The second one is my new favourite, the Catrice Beautifying Lip Smoother, which is a dupe for the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector (huh, what a long name) so it gives almost no colour but a really nice, natural shine and makes the whole look put together. The last one is a discontinued colour of the Catrice Pure Shine Colour Lip Balm, a shiny, light coverage red.
